Apart from the range of SUVs, why choose KIA?

The owner Shashikant Vaishnav says when it comes to driving in the city, your vehicle needs to be compact, especially when it’s a family car. Plus, the KIA X-line’s comfortability and affordability factors are influential regarding SUVs.

How is the ride compatible?

Shashikant Vaishnav says we’ve driven the vehicle more than 5,000 Kms so far and covered a round trip to Rajasthan in about 2,000 Kms. He furthers that with a standard average of around 16km/ltr, the car had never failed to impress me when it came to driving far distances for a long time.

What was your reasonable budget planning to own the KIA X-Line?

With an on-road price of 21.6 Lakhs, they set the accessories, taxes, and insurance within the standard price tag. Our vehicle is owned as a stock vehicle and hasn’t been through any external modifications.

How long was the waiting period?

The usual waiting period for the KIA X-Line was around 3-4 months, so it is lengthy, but compared with the other SUVs like Mahindra, it’s about a fast delivery process. It’s rare that you can get the car before the delivery date, but the wait is absolutely worth it.

What is the service charge affordability of the KIA X-Line?

Your needing to pay an extra service charge for the X-line is absolutely a myth. KIA offers a standard free service plan for the first two services, and the average cost of later services is around 12-50 thousand per year. A high Price doesn’t mean a high service charge.

What do you like the most about the KIA X-Line?

Shashi says it’s odd that people look at my car and compliment me about the matt color. They don’t get to see matt KIAs running around on roads every day. It’s unique and the most likable thing about this car. Secondly, the little chrome finishing you can find everywhere on this car makes it stand out more from other SUVs.

The 18-inch alloy wheels are very comfortable on roads, and the 500 ltr hood space is enough to carry our family luggage.

Thirdly, the X-Line is the most feature-loaded vehicle, which is a huge advantage when it comes to owning a family car. It’s also noteworthy to say that this has been the easiest car to learn to drive if you are a beginner, Shashi says.

What do you least like about the KIA X-Line?

I’d say the built quality of the X-Line is not very sturdy. But, considering the safety features that are added to the car, I don’t have to worry much about it, Shashi says. Regarding safety, the vehicle has the official crash test score of 3 out of 5 according to NCAP, which comes under the tag ‘safer cars of India.’

Also, it would’ve been great if they also added a panoramic sunroof to this model. We’d appreciate the morning sunlight coming inside the car just to get that vitamin D.

Secondly, the navigation system could’ve been better because it usually lags behind the real-time speed of the car. It gets a bit inaccurate due to the delay that occurs in real time.

But the overall positive features balance out the negatives of this car, so we don’t worry about it much.

What’s Outside?

What you see here is the new KIA Seltos X-line. Apart from its September launch, the X-line still sits at the top of its food chain in the KIA ecosystem.

Throughout this article, we will quickly glimpse some features offered by this Seltos and see if it stands by its namesake.

Starting with its exterior, the exclusive X-line factors a matt graphite color that does lend the KIA X-line the most aggressive city predator look.

Compared to its predecessor GTX Plus, the X-line trades the glossier look for the dark and matt segments.

The matt graphite paint on the front grille, the gloss black essence around the fog lamps, wing mirrors, and the new piano black skid with an orange accent on the front, side, and back seem to complement the design.

Unlike the GTX Plus, this Seltos has an unmistakenly larger wheelbase. The older 17-inches make room for 18-inch wheels with a new rim design to welcome more grip on the road.

Stunning as they look, KIA would’ve had an option to opt for all-black wheels too.

Behind the Seltos, you’ll find a more refined tailgate with a chrome dressing to highlight the logo in broad daylight.

What’s inside?

Looking inside, the changes are capped to the new color theme compared to the GTX Plus versions. Interestingly, you’ll find the new blue interior called an Indigo Perra with leather seats covered in a honeycomb pattern and colored stitching.

The rest of the cabin has ample space with a premium finishing and feel with a single pan sunroof.

Speaking of features inside, you can find a 10.20-inch screen, climate controls, a digital speedometer, a heads-up display for speed gazing and a premium bose sound system for entertainment.

You’ll get 6 airbags, an ESC, and much more regarding safety features.

Under the bonnet, we will find a 1.5-liter diesel engine with 115 horsepower and a 1.4-liter turbo engine with 140 horsepower if opted for petrol.

Nevertheless, we expect an automatic gearbox for both the X-line versions.

With a 6-speed torque converter on this diesel variant, you can also get a 7-speed dual-clutch for a 1.4 turbo petrol version.

Mahindra Scorpio-N 2022 Engine

The all-new Scorpio-N is equipped with the already powerful engine from an on-sale Thar and XUV700. Reportedly, the petrol engine will be optimized to produce a max power of 170 PS. There hasn’t been any official news on the gearbox specification yet, but speculating the patterns the company follows throughout the previous generations of Scorpio, we might get to see the higher-spec variant system to offer a six-speed manual gearbox and a choice to have a six-speed torque converter automatic gearbox for more versatility.

Additionally, the new SUV is expected to have a 4×4 powertrain with both offered engines, with features such as drive mode and terrain mode for convenience.

Mahindra Scorpio-N 2022 Price

The new Mahindra Scorpio-N potentially has no competition in the segment as of now, nonetheless, customers of Hyundai Alcazar, Tata Safari, and MG Hector Plus will have their eyes on the model. If you proceed successfully, you can now see the application number, which you can use to download the soft copy of your driving license.

In this digital age, one should prefer getting a digital copy of a driving license instead of having a physical document to avoid losing it on site. On the bright side, the Indian Ministry of Road Transport & Highways has approved a provision to use a digital copy of your driving license. Let alone called an ‘E-License‘ under the Motor Vehicles Act – 1998, here’s how you can download a soft copy of your driving license.

Step 2: Select your state, and further you will be redirected to a new page. On the homepage, click on the ‘Driving License’ tab.

Step 3: From the options appearing, select ‘Print Driving License’.

Step 4: Now, submit your application number and date of birth.

By successfully adding the required information, you can download your driving license in the next window.

Step 1: Visit the Ministry of Road and Transportation Highways and select your preferred location in the ‘Select State Name‘.

Step 2: Now click on the ‘Others‘ tab and then select ‘Search Related applications‘

Step 3: You can now select ‘DL No‘ in the selection bar on the left and by entering the required fields such as your Date of Birth and Captcha, you can hit Submit and then the Print button to download the Driving license in a PDF format.
